2. Why we use it
- To run your matrimony account and show you relevant matches.

3. Who we share it with
- Other members only see what your privacy settings allow. Private photos are served through an authenticated proxy and are visible only to members you have connected with.
- Our team may access profiles and moderation content for verification, support, and abuse review.
- Service providers: our SMTP provider (email delivery), UploadThing (photo storage), and hosting provider (VPS). They act as Data Processors under contract.
- We do not sell your data to advertisers.
- We may disclose data when required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of a member or a third party.
4. How long we keep it
- Active account data is retained while your account exists.
- If you delete your account, your profile is hidden immediately and personally identifying information (name, email, phone, photos, message bodies) is scrubbed 30 days later. Some records (payment receipts, dispute history) are retained longer to meet financial and legal obligations.
- Technical logs are retained for up to 30 days.
- You may request earlier deletion by writing to our grievance officer.

- Access your data. You can download a machine-readable JSON export from the Settings page at any time.
- Correct or update your data through the profile edit screens.
- Withdraw consent for any specific email category from the Notification preferences page or via the one-click unsubscribe link inside every email.

6. Security
We hash passwords with bcrypt, serve the site only over HTTPS in production, isolate private photos behind an authenticated proxy, rate-limit sensitive endpoints, and require two-step email verification. No system is perfectly secure, and you are responsible for keeping your credentials safe.
7. Children
Kodava Matrimony is only for adults aged 18 or above. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we learn that a minor has created an account, we will delete it.
8. Cross-border transfers
Our servers and service providers may be located outside India. When personal data leaves India we do so only to countries where such transfer is permitted by applicable law, and subject to appropriate contractual safeguards with the receiving processor.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email and in-app at least seven days before they take effect.
